George III Collection from Theodore Alexander
1765-1811 England
Often viewed as the “Golden Age” of furniture in England, the reign of George III witnessed the rise of some of the most well known designers. The variety of materials and styles that emerged is still unrivalled in its innovation. Mahogany, satinwood and exotic new materials characterized this time.
Under George I, George II and George III, in England, were defined the distinguishing characteristics of the now called Georgian style of furniture.
